I am hugely inspired by the changing seasons on Dartmoor and all the wonderful opportunities that nature provides a photographer in this part of Devon. But, if you’re not fast enough to bring your vision for a photo session together, you have to wait a whole year to next make it happen. This was the case with my heather session! It did, however, give me a little extra time to find my model, my location near Bennett’s Cross and the Warren House Inn, and the colour and style of the dress.
As with many photo sessions on Dartmoor, we photographed all four seasons in one day (or one hour!). Some of these photographs were actually taken in the rain! The light was constantly changing which created some lovely moody shots. I’m so pleased with how these heather portraits turned out.
If you would love to have a styled session in the heather, please let me know ahead of time so I can switch my ‘heather radar’ on for you!
