Katya Nosyreva Ceramics

Katya Nosyreva is a free-lance artist working with porcelain clay and the visual and symbolic language of geometry.

Her creative practice is informed by her studio-based PhD research and travels, and she also draws inspiration from her immediate surroundings on Dartmoor. Katya makes thrown pots and intricately patterned tiles, exploring the unique translucent qualities of porcelain and undertakes commissions for various architectural contexts.

Looking at my work through someone else’s eyes was an invaluable experience, helping to clarify what I really endeavoured to make in the studio. Annie’s step by step photographs of different making stages, from drawing to fired ceramic pieces, really capture the continuity of the creative process and reflect the contemplative aspects of engaging in making things by hand.

A set of high quality photographs to use for business cards, posters, books, websites and promotion is extremely useful and exciting for any artist or maker, and Annie can really capture the essence of what you create.
